abbe showroom celebrates the valencian fallas festival
When ABBE (Artesanía Bordada), a producer of artisanal goods for the traditional Fallas festival, enlisted Clap Studio to design their showroom in Valencia, the studio began their concept with the aim of encapsulating the essence of this vibrant celebration. Clap Studio envisioned a space that captures the spirit of blossoming and the transition from winter to spring, planting a floral installation in collaboration with the Amiguis collective, as a centerpiece symbolizing the fleeting beauty of spring blossoms. ‘What we represent in the space is a specific moment, as if we had frozen time at the precise moment when nature awakens from a winter slumber,’ explains Àngela Montagud.

clap studio evokes the growth and transition of spring
In Valencia, Spain, the Fallas festival commemorates the arrival of spring. Originating from an ancient tradition of carpenters who lit bonfires in city squares to burn the remnants of wood used during winter, this celebration has evolved into elaborate artistic monuments made with flammable materials known as ‘fallas’. Clap Studio draws on this, crafting a monochromatic space which, at a specific point, begins to bloom and come to life. Volumes of vibrant colors evoke growth, promising to transform the entire space into a kaleidoscope of hues. The team envelops the showroom in artisanal mortar that combines with perimeter curtains that conceal the exposed products as needed, and allow the experience to be molded and adapted to the user and their needs.
