Chelsea’s injury crisis deepened on Wednesday night, after Conor Gallagher went off injured early against Brentford.
The midfielder was forced off in the 16th minute at the Gtech Community Stadium, after the ball cannoned into his knee while it was planted in the turf.
Gallagher was replaced by Mateo Kovacic.
Chelsa manager, Graham Potter, said during his post-match press conference: “I haven’t spoken to the doctors but he just felt ill.
“He thought he was going to be sick so hopefully it’s just a 24 hour thing and he will be okay.”
Potter is already without defenders Reece James and Wesley Fofana, with James very likely to miss the World Cup with a knee problem.
N’Golo Kante has also been ruled out of the tournament in Qatar, with a persistent hamstring injury set to keep the Frenchman out until the new year.
