Chelsea is getting closer to signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli this summer.
Journalist Miguel Delaney made this known, adding that the Blues have been engaged in negotiations with Napoli.
He stated that while negotiations have been tough, “a breakthrough is now in sight.”
Osimhen, 25, has a €130 million release clause in the agreement he signed with West London last summer, which the club is unwilling to use.
Instead, Enzo Maresca’s side are exploring the option to include Romelu Lukaku in their offer for the Nigeria international and current African Footballer of the Year.
The former Serie A winners are open to such agreements, as new manager Antonio Conte wants the former Manchester United striker to spearhead his attack this season.
Lukaku is no longer part of Chelsea’s plans and will be allowed to depart.
However, Osimhen reportedly wants to be paid around £200,000 per week to transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea recently instituted a tight pay structure at Stamford Bridge, but they are ready to make an exception for the Nigerian.
