Blackburn Rovers have spoken to Leeds United defender Liam Cooper, who is available this summer on a free transfer, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Cooper is out of contract at Leeds this summer, but the Elland Road outfit have put fresh terms on the table for him to sign.
The defender is considering his options as he plots what to do, especially as game time at Leeds may be at a premium next season.
Cooper is not short of options and Blackburn Rovers have held talks with him.
The Ewood outfit want to boost their defensive department and Cooper, an experienced campaigner, is an attractive target.
Blackburn Rovers are though looking at other options, including Hull City’s Sean McLoughlin.
It is suggested that the Tigers star, who could cost £500,000, would likely want lower wages than Cooper.
Cooper, 32, has made over 200 appearances at Championship level, being shown a straight red card only once in those games.
