Bukayo Saka remained coy on whether he is a world class talent after once again starring in Arsenal’s latest victory.
The 22-year-old brought up his 16th goal of the season in Saturday night’s 4-1 win over Newcastle at the Emirates.
It is the most the 32-cap England international has scored in a single campaign.
And he has become the first Englishman to score in five consecutive Premier League games for the Gunners since Ian Wright in 1994.
There has been much talk about Saka of late, with Rio Ferdinand insisting the Hale End graduate isn’t yet world class, despite his numbers suggesting otherwise.
The Manchester United legend has been taunted by Arsenal fans over his remarks, with the forward himself now commenting on the matter.
Saka, who cupped his ears after curling home Arsenal’s third against the Magpies, was asked by TNT Sports whether some would call his finish ‘world class’.
The question drew laughter from the youngster, who simply stated: “No comment.”
He continued: “I am happy with another goal today and more importantly happy to win.
“I am working hard every day in he training ground and giving my best.
“Obviously I have great teammates giving me good passes which helps as well.”
Commenting on Arsenal’s imperious form, Saka stated: “We have been working hard and we have a lot of quality going forward.
“And I feel like it is just starting to click now, we’re playing with a lot of confidence and the chemistry is building as well, so we just need to continue like this.”
No player has scored more Premier League goals than Saka’s seven in 2024, with his Gunners side blowing teams away.
Mikel Arteta‘s side have now scored 25 goals in their last six top-flight matches.
Incredibly, Arsenal have banged in 18 times in February alone – half of Manchester United‘s tally [36] for the entirety of the season so far.
