Anne Hegerty, also known as The Governess on The Chase, has opened up on her future on the hit ITV show
Anne Hegerty, affectionately dubbed ‘The Governess’ on The Chase, has confirmed her future plans on the ITV quiz show. Anne revealed she was chatting to Coronation Street’s Helen Worth at an earlier Pride of Manchester Awards function and confirmed her future on the show.
Anne, at 66-years-old, has made it clear that her place will always stay secure on The Chase. Speaking to Bella magazine, she said: “I have absolutely no plans to [leave]. I remember a couple of years ago, I was at the Pride of Manchester Awards, and sitting next to Helen Worth from Coronation Street. We were chatting and I told her I don’t want to leave The Chase because I don’t want to be that person who left a really successful TV show because they thought they could do better and then to never be heard from again.”
Hegerty joined The Chase back in 2010 and expressed: “I don’t feel the need to do any retiring. I love doing The Chase it’s my favourite job ever. I’ve never had a better job than The Chase it’s brilliant.”

Anne’s refused to splash the cash in order to keep the home she’s lived in long before The Chase. Speaking last year on the How To Be 60 with Kaye Adams and Karen MacKenzie podcast, the star said: “I live in a Housing Association flat. I own half of it and rent the other half.”
Elsewhere on the podcast, Anne explained that she was diagnosed with Autism in her mid-40s after spotting a string of similarities between herself and those who had been diagnosed.
While Anne is now known by millions, she told the Loose Women star that she had always dreamed of being famous but despite wanting to be an actor – she knew this wouldn’t be realistic.
