Saudi Arabia professional football club, Al Nassir, has parted ways with Cameroonian star Vincent Aboubakar.
The decision was taken to allow the club to register and feature Portuguese striker, Cristiano Ronaldo, in its next matches.
Ronaldo had joined Al Nassr days ago after his contract termination from Manchester United.
However, he has not played for the Saudi Arabian club due to a rule in the country’s league which restrain clubs from having no more than eight foreign nationals at a time.
Since Aboubakar’s contract has now been terminated wiith mutual understanding, Ronaldo could now make his debut on January 22, AFP reveals.
Ronaldo will now be available for the January 22 home game against Ettifaq as the player would have completed his two-match ban issued in November for smashing a fan’s mobile phone while playing for Manchester United.
“Al Nassr terminated Vincent Aboubakar’s contract by mutual consent and he received all his financial rights,” the club source said, adding that Ronaldo was registered before Al Nassr’s game against Al Ta’ee on Friday.
“So now he served one game from the ban and will serve the other one against Al Shabab on January 14,” the source added.
Speculations, however, are that Manchester United are looking forward to signing Aboubakar as a replacement for Ronaldo since the Cameroonian is now a free agent.
I just pray he gets a better club, because the guy is a good player
So they just used him and dumped him, because they thought they have found a better alternative… This is just wickedness.
They were very unfair to him.
