The Black Princesses of Ghana defeated Nigeria’s Falconets in the Under 20 women’s football final at the ongoing African Games.
The match ended 2-1 in favour of Ghana after 120 minutes at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday night.
Nigeria opened the scoring in the first half through Loveth Edeh.
However, Tracy Twum restored parity for the host in the second half.
The match ended 1-1 after 90 minutes as both teams failed to score.
Mukarama Abdullai then scored a goal in the first half of extra-time to give Ghana a 2-1 lead.
Nigeria fought back in the second half of extra-time but failed to equalize as Ghana eventually won the gold in the women’s football final event.
