The Super Eagles will take on either Burkina Faso or Guinea in their only pre-AFCON friendly on January 9.
According to SCORENigeria, officials of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, are still in talks with their Guinean and Burkinabe counterparts to finalise agreement on the friendly.
Guinea and Burkina Faso, like Nigeria, are training in Abu Dhabi ahead of the AFCON.
A day after the friendly, the team will fly back to Lagos before they head to Abidjan for the AFCON.
The Super Eagles are drawn in Group A with hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau for the competition.
Their first game is against Equatorial Guinea on January 14.
