ABT Audi RS 6 Legacy Edition Is A Rare Supercar Posing As An Executive Station Wagon

The current Audi RS 6 Avant is nearing its end of life. The four-ring brand is putting the final touches on its successor, which will be known as the RS 7 Avant due to the company’s new naming scheme, which will see combustion-powered vehicles use odd numbers in their names and EVs use even numbers.
Word on the street is that it will continue to offer V8 firepower, albeit with electric assistance, perhaps in the form of a plug-in hybrid. It is possible that it might borrow its power setup from the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, and if that is the case, then it could enjoy close to 700 horsepower or slightly less. This would give it an advantage over the current Audi RS 6 Avant, which has 621 horsepower (630 ps/463 kW) and 627 pound-feet (850 Nm) of torque, taking 3.3s to 60 mph (97 kph) and tapping out at 155 mph (250 kph). Everything is channeled to the quattro all-wheel-drive system through an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission.

However, one does not necessarily have to wait another year or so for Audi Sport to unveil the upcoming RS 7 Avant to enjoy more power than in the outgoing RS 6. Sure, they’d have to be open to the tuning world, and if they are, then ABT Sportsline is one company that would gladly take their money in return for something truly spectacular like the RS 6 Legacy Edition.

Christened the ABT RS6-LE, this project came out a little over a year ago, boasting an impressive 749 hp (760 ps/559 kW) and 723 pound-foot (980 Nm) of torque. The tuner has upgraded the turbochargers and intercoolers and gave it a new engine control unit. Are you curious how quick this executive super wagon is? You are wrong unless you said 3.1 seconds from 0-62 mph (0 to 100 kph), as that is the number ABT mentioned during the grand unveiling.

Thus, the RS6-LE is some three-tenths of a second faster than the stock RS 6 Avant, and that is basically supercar territory. Okay, previous-gen supercar territory, as the modern ones have dropped below the three-second mark. Pricing for the RS6-LE Package was set at €107,900, plus €11,930 for installation, in Germany, including VAT, which comes out to a total of €119,830 (equal to $130,420).

Factor in the cost of an Audi RS 6, which starts at €130,500 ($142,035) in its home market and $125,800 in the United States, and it came out to over a quarter of a million euros ($272,095). And we know some great models you can buy for that money. ABT Sportsline also gave the RS6-LE aerodynamic add-ons with an exposed carbon fiber look, with the body kit comprising the front, side, and rear skirts, a large roof spoiler, bumper intake garnish, etc. The quad tailpipes are new, and so are the 22-inch forged alloys. An interior makeover was also part of the project.

ABT Sportsline limited the production of this model to only 200 copies, as evidenced by the new door sills, and we have come across one that’s looking for a new home. According to the ad that we’ll link in a few moments, it features a Mythosschwarz paint finish, which is a fancy word for black, a few carbon fiber touches in the form of the body kit mentioned above, special interior touches like the entry sills, RS6-LE embossing, new paddle shifters, gear shifter cap, tweaked steering wheel, etc.

It’s a brand-new car, with the listing revealing that it has around 215 miles (350 km) under its belt. The first registration dates back to September 2023, so it hasn’t seen much action in the last nine months. The vehicle is in stock, and the vendor says it can export it to worldwide markets. So, how much do you think it costs? Try €244,750, which comes out to $266,380 at the current exchange rates. As a result, it costs less than a new RS 6 Avant and ABT’s RS6-LE package. But that’s still a lot of money for what is still a family-oriented Audi, yet a very fast one.

Hollmann International is responsible for finding a new home for this ABT RS6-LE, whose listing you can find here. But don’t click on it just yet, as we have to ask you what car you would buy if you had a budget of over a quarter of a million bucks. I’d probably wait for BMW’s M Division to launch the all-new M5 Touring, which should be one of the best driver’s cars in its class, and after getting acquainted with it, I’d go for a Stage 1 upgrade, a pair of nice wheels, and probably some suspension tweaks, and I’d still have plenty of cash to think about a sports car and probably a nice mainstream SUV.
