Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson suffered a recurring injury in Saturday’s 1-0 win against Crystal Palace and is said to have looked ‘distraught’ in the aftermath
Liverpool’s victory at Crystal Palace was marred by injury to Alisson in the final stages. From what he witnessed on the touchline ex-Red Peter Crouch believes it does not look good for the goalkeeper.
The Reds were set on their way by Diogo Jota, flicking in from close range inside 10 minutes. He himself should have increased his goal tally three-fold whilst chances from teammates also went begging.
A tense ending to the match was teed up as a result and the drama heightened further with less than 20 minutes to play. Alisson, making only his third outing since the recent hamstring injury that kept him out of the two prior matches, fell to the turf clutching the back of his leg upon making a clearance.

With Caoimhin Kelleher not travelling to the capital due to illness, it was 23-year-old Vitezslav Jaros lined up to come on in place of the Brazilian for his Premier League debut and make saves that would take his team to victory.
After the final whistle, former Liverpool striker turned TNT Sports pundit Crouch was providing analysis and said he spotted a worrying sign for the injured goalkeeper.
“I saw it straight away. He knew straight away. When a player reacts like that you know it’s a bad one so yeah really concerned for him,” he gave in a damning verdict.
As well as the problem already this season supporters will remember Alisson picking up a similar issue last term which meant Kelleher had to deputise 26 times – almost as many appearances as the 32-year-old made himself.
Watching him make way for the away changing room, Crouch added: “He looks distraught in front of us here. That’s the one bad part of today, is losing Alisson. Because that could be a while now.”
Provided Kelleher is fit enough he would likely fill in for Alisson again if the new issue does rule him out for a longer period. Beyond this season, Giorgi Mamardashvili’s impending arrival looks set to shake up the goalkeeping department.
