A large cordon was put in place in Kirkby this evening following a police incident. Emergency services surrounded Redhill Avenue at 5.30pm on Thursday, October 17.
Several police cars were at the scene and a large cordon was in place while emergency services dealt with the incident. Photos taken by the ECHO show a bus in the centre of the cordon with its hazard lights flashing. A witness reported seeing an air ambulance at the scene.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix confirmed Britonside Road was partially closed in both directions “due to an accident” at Redhill Avenue. Residents in the area told the ECHO they had heard reports of a car crash but this has not yet been confirmed by police.
