Chelsea have made a move to sign Brentford striker, Ivan Toney, as they look to hijack a potential move to Saudi Arabia.
According to Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, the Blues are seriously considering Toney.
Al-Ahli are said to have made an “incredible” offer, but the Blues are hoping to persuade him to remain in the Premier League, having failed to convince Victor Osimhen to leave Napoli.
Chelsea have spent a staggering €260m this summer, and have already secured no fewer than 12 first-team signings.
Joao Felix and Pedro Neto both bolster the Blues’ attack but manager Enzo Maresca has said that he wants a new No.9, and Toney has subsequently been identified.
While Al-Ahli have made a bid to sign the England international, Chelsea hope that the lure of staying in England may sway matters.
