Aston Villa Add Liverpool Linked Defender To Shortlist Of Targets

Aston Villa have added Liverpool linked defender Lutsharel Geertruida to their list of possible targets this summer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

 

Geertruida was a key man under Arne Slot at Feyenoord and helped the Rotterdam outfit to win a Dutch Cup and a Dutch title during the now Liverpool manager’s spell in charge.

 

He has been heavily linked with a possible move away from De Kuip this summer, with a reunion with Slot floated as a possibility.

 

 

Geertruida could have another Premier League destination possibility though as Aston Villa are now looking at him.

 

Unai Emery’s side have added him to their shortlist of targets and are weighing up a move.

 

 

The Dutchman also has interest from German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

 

A right-back by trade, he is now into the final year of his contract at Feyenoord.

 

 

Geertruida is now just one appearance short of hitting the 200 outings milestone for Feyenoord and, with interest in him, it remains to be seen if he will get there.
