Protest erupted at the Gombe Government House on Friday as hundreds of demonstrators gathered to voice their frustration over increasing hunger and economic hardship.
The protesters, mostly young adults, chanted slogans demanding urgent action from the government to address the rising cost of living and scarcity of basic food items.
DAILY POST reports a significant police presence at the scene, with law enforcement officials attempting to maintain order.
The demonstrators Who were peaceful in their demonstration expressed their dissatisfaction with what they described as the government’s inadequate response to the growing hunger crisis affecting many families in the region.
Speaking with DAILY POST, one of the protesters, Hauwa Saleh explained that hunger was the only reason they are out to protest.
Speaking in Hausa language, she said, “Only hunger, only hunger, that is the only reason we came out”.
Another protester, speaking earlier in tears said hunger and lack of water is the problem.
