Stewart Robson from the ESPN Press Room, has said that Manchester City midfielder, Rodri deserves to win the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Fabio Cannavaro was the last defensive-minded player to win the award in 2006.
This followed impressive displays for Italy as they won the World Cup.
Since then, only attacking players like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have won the Ballon d’Or.
When asked who he thinks should win the Ballon d’Or, Robson said: “I would go with Rodri personally because I think he dominates games.
“He’s been unbeaten for certain games, he’s only been beaten in only one game, that was the [FA Cup] final, he’s an inspiration for his team, he’s an inspiration for his country.”
