Juventus are about to miss out on a slam dunk transfer target to Inter Milan

There are few things worse for Juventus than losing to Inter Milan. They’ve had their fair share of that over the years since Inter broke up their Scudetto hegemony with an Antonio Conte-led (of all people) Scudetto triumph in 2020/21.

Then last season, Inter ran away with the Serie A title, topping Juventus by more than 20 points, even though the Bianconeri gave the false impression that they would be Scudetto contenders in the first half of the campaign.

As if losing to Inter on the pitch weren’t enough, now Juventus are on the cusp of adding an “L” to their column off the field, as Inter are beating the Bianconeri on the transfer market yet again.

According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior is close to reaching an agreement with Inter Milan for a transfer this summer after the Gunners signed Bologna star Riccardo Calafiori.

That is downright insulting to Juventus if they miss out on Kiwior to Inter, because Kiwior was supposed to be an almost guaranteed signing for the Old Lady this window.

And that’s becaause Juve were supposed to be the frontrunners to sign Calafiori, but they dragged their feet and waited for the Euros, during which Calafiori became a social media sensation.

Arsenal stepped up their interest, and Calafiori ended up spurning the biggest club in Italy in order to sign with the Premier League title contenders and a team that is actually making waves in the Champions League.

But Kiwior, who was great in Serie A for Spezia before joining Arsenal in 2022, would not have been a bad consolation prize for Juventus at all, considering he is a highly versatile and athletic defender in his own right.

If this report holds true, then Kiwior won’t be the easy transfer Juve thought and could instead burn them as part of a much more successful Inter Milan side that already boasts some very talented defenders in Benjamin Pavard and Alessandro Bastoni.
