Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the Commandant-General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), says that 50 illegal refineries have been destroyed, 300 trucks recovered and 200 suspects arrested within one year by the Corps.
Speaking in Abuja on Friday during a strategic meeting with commandant and heads of anti-vandal units in the country, he expressed the NSCDC’s determination to reverse the trend in every part of the country.
According to him, “Oil theft and illegal bunkering are on the rise, but we are on it; that is why we scheduled the meeting to proffer solutions to the menace.”
The Commandant-General explained that the management had commenced discreet investigation into the activities of anti-vandal squads across the States, with a view to curbing all scrupulous elements in the country.
