Chelsea and Arsenal on red alert as Michael Olise’s transfer preference comes to light

Chelsea target Michael Olise prefers to remain at Crystal Palace

Journalist Alan Nixon confirms Michael Olise prefers to continue at Crystal Palace amid interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, and Arsenal. Olise future continues to be up in the air, as he last time came close to leaving Palace but ended up signing a new deal.

According to journalist Alan Nixon, via Football.London, when asked if Olise wants to leave Palace, the reporter replied that he ‘prefers to remain at Palace’, which puts a dent in Chelsea’s pursuit of the Frenchman.

Olise endured an injury-ridden season last term but made up for it with his performance. The 22-year-old recorded 10 goals and six assists in just 19 games for the Palace, which speaks volumes about his performance and how massive an influential player he is at such a young age.

If Chelsea are to sign Olise, they will have to free up space on the right wing, as they already have the likes of Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke. Though Palmer can be used as an attacking midfielder, there will be many changes in the lineup to accommodate Olise in the squad.

Palmer is definitely not a forward the Blues are unlikely to think about selling considering how immediately successful he became during his first Chelsea season, but that is something the team will have to consider because we cannot just keep signing players in a single position if we are not selling.

Olise’s brilliance is unmistakable and his numbers more than support his high asking price. Despite missing much of the previous season, he returned with a roar, and his 10 goals in just 19 games is a significant accomplishment.

His addition further adds bite to our squad’s attacking prowess, but for that, we will have to free up space in order to land him, which makes things difficult. Meanwhile, he could be open to a move as he wants to remain in London, and given that he is a former academy player, he is certainly familiar with the club environment.
