The Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools Board is an agency of the government of Rivers State responsible for the development and management of the state’s secondary education system. It is headquartered in Port Harcourt. Its formation was authorized by the Senior Secondary Schools Board Law No.5 of 2012.

RSSSSB General Requirements
1. Candidates shall be no less than 18 years and no more than 50 years old at the
time of this application.
2. Candidates shall have demonstrable skill in the use of Microsoft Word, Power
Point, Excel and the internet.
3. Candidates shall possess a minimum of Bachelors Degree in Education: – B.Ed,
B.A (Ed), B.Sc (Ed), B.Tech (Ed), or PGDE and M.Ed.
4. A teaching license certified by the Teacher’s Registration Council of Nigeria
(TRCN) shall be an added advantage.
5. Candidates shall demonstrate capacity in written and spoken communication in
English.
6. Recruitment of candidates shall be through computer based test and interview to
determine competence in pedagogical, psychosocial and organizational skills.
Application Giudelines – Rivers State Senior Secondary Schools Board (RSSSSB) teachers recruitment 2023
1. Application letter, typewritten and signed by the applicant.
2. Recent coloured passport photograph (not older than six (6) months) on a white
background.
3. Birth certificate or affidavit of birth (recently sworn age declarations are liable
to be rejected).
4. ALL educational certificates from First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC),
Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), and Senior School
Certificates to the highest degree attained by candidate.
5. Professional licenses and certificates i.e. TRCN etc.
6. Local Government Identification Certificate.
7. NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate where applicable.
8. Detailed curriculum Vitae with names, designations, telephone numbers and
email addresses of two referees.
9. Shortlisted candidates shall be contacted via email.

1. Fill the application form on www.rssssb.org with your valid information. Ensure to doublecheck your information before submitting.
2. In the attachment section, select your files by clicking “Upload file” button, then click the appropriate “Upload” button for that field. Your uploaded file will display beside the field after a successful upload.
3. The application is in 3 sections you are to click next upon completion of each field .
4. Click on “Submit” button again to finalize your submission, or click on “Back” button to go back to edit form, and edit your submission.
6. You will be redirected to a confirmation page upon successful submission.

- Why do i get a “permission denied” error? Ensure your document is in PDF format. Ensure it’s not larger than 300KB.
- Can i apply more than once because i made an error? No.
- Can i edit my application after filling the form? Yes, you can edit before your final submission. Click on “Change” button to go back to edit page. However, if you have already submitted with the final Submit button, you cannot edit your application.
- Can i preview my application before submitting? Yes, the form allows you to preview your application before final submission.
- Why does it show that my BVN already exist after filling the form? This means you or someone already applied using your BVN details.
- What is CAPTCHA? It’s a mechanism to ensure only humans fill the form, and not bots.
