“Circus Cups” (3rd Century AD), are Roman Glass Cups found in princely graves in Denmark.
They are known as ‘Circus Cups’ due to their enamel-decorated images of animals from Roman arena. Imported from workshops in Rhine area. These unusual and attractively decorated vessels were fairly common during the second half of the 1st Century AD, and have been found throughout the western provinces of the Roman Empire, including Britain.
