12 suspects in Gombe Police net for various criminal offences


Gombe State Police Command has arrested 12 suspects for the offences of criminal conspiracy, trespass, theft and receiving stolen properties.

The suspects arrested are: David Garba, 23 years old of Lapan ward in Shongom LGA, Isah Mamuda and Ahmed Mamuda 28 years all of Nassarawo ward in Kaltungo LGA.

Other suspects arrested are: Samaila Francis aged 25, Salmanu Jibril aged 20, Daniel Danladi aged 20, Jessy Jackson aged 18 and Ezekiel Kadiri aged 17, as well as Abdulrahman Hassan, aged 18, all of Kaltungo LGA, Ali Rabiu aged 22 of Billiri LGA, Sirajo Abdullahi aged 18 of Kumo, Akko LGA while Sadique Hassan Dokoro is still at large.

According to the Command PPRO, ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, while acting on a credible intelligence on 29/01/2024, the above-named persons were intercepted in possession of a submersible pump suspected to have been stolen.

He added that the exhibits were recovered and suspects were detailed for investigation while further investigation revealed that the properties in question belonged to the Federal Ministry of Environmental Forestry Research Institute Kaltungo branch which was removed some days ago alongside some pipes and electrical cables, the suspects confessed to have engaged in such criminal activities within Kaltungo Axis.

The PPRO added that, on 30th /01/2024, at about 0545hrs, one Salihu Usman and Kadus Hasari reported at Kaltungo Division, that on the same date at about 0300hrs, the mentioned suspects conspired with one Sani Yunusa aka 2.4 and Dahiru Audu aka ‘Attacker’ all of Banganje ward now at large and broke into the Stores of One Kadus Hasari and Salihu Usman respectively.

The suspects carted away the following items: Ten Bags of Maize worth N500,000, one Mattres, N70,000, Twelve empty Sacks valued N3000 and sold two bags of maize to one Ibrahim Usman of Kumo, Akko LGA, and one Ali Rabiu of Sansani Billiri LGA bought 6 bags of the maize.

Other exhibits recovered included: One long dagger, one heavy iron cutter used in breaking the stores and One Bajaj motorcycle for conveyance of the stolen items. All cases will be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
