  1. Assassination of Director of Finance: Mr. Taiwo Oyekanmi, the Director of Finance and Accounts in the office of Governor Dapo Abiodun, was killed in Abeokuta, Ogun State, while returning from a bank after withdrawing funds for the state. He was gunned down.
  2. Budget Allocation for 2024: The Bola Tinubu-led administration plans to allocate N6.75tn of a projected N27.5tn budget on defense and security, education, and infrastructure in 2024. A significant portion, N6.48tn (96%), is designated for personnel and pension, marking an increase from the 2023 provision.
  3. Arrest of NSCDC Officers: The Nigeria Police detained three officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for shooting two students in the Federal Capital Territory. The injured students are receiving treatment at a hospital.

  10. Arrests by Benue State Police: 25 suspects were arrested in Benue State, including a suspected spiritualist, his pregnant wife, and others who traveled from Delta State. Additionally, 15 suspected arm manufacturers were apprehended.
