- The military and Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, have jointly launched an operation to combat potential ballot box theft by miscreants during the upcoming governorship elections in Kogi, Bayelsa, and Imo states scheduled for this Saturday. The security authorities have issued stern warnings to troublemakers, and the police have confirmed the deployment of 67,000 personnel to ensure security in Kogi and Bayelsa states in preparation for the polls.
- The Federal Government revealed on Monday that incidents of pipeline vandalism have resulted in the theft of more than N4.3 trillion worth of crude oil over a span of five years in 7,143 reported cases.
