1. In response to the verdict of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), have jointly filed appeals consisting of 86 grounds at the Supreme Court, aiming to overturn the tribunal’s judgment. The two candidates, in separate appeals submitted on Tuesday, have urged the apex court to invalidate the PEPT ruling and annul Tinubu’s election, citing the judgment as flawed.
2. On Tuesday, gunmen carried out a violent attack in Umualumaku community, located in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, resulting in the deaths of approximately eight security personnel, including soldiers, police officers, and members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
