Paris Saint-Germain forward, Lionel Messi, has spoken up about why he embarked on an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia.
Recall that the Argentina World Cup winner was handed a two-week suspension by the club for his unethical conduct.
Reacting to his suspension in a video he shared on his social media page, Messi said he has already apologised to his teammates and is waiting for the club’s decision.
He explained that he went on the trip because he was hoping the team was going to get a day off after the game as well.
He said, “I thought we were going to have a day off after the game as always. I had this trip organised, and I couldn’t cancel it. I had already cancelled it before.
Messi added: “I apologize to my teammates and I’m waiting for what the club wants to do with me”.
