1. Deposit Money Banks have begun to ration the disbursements of old N1,000 and N500 notes to their customers amid uncertainty over whether the Central Bank of Nigeria will release the old notes in its custody. This came about 24 hours after the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, announced that old N1,000, N500 and N200 notes remained legal tender.

2. The disparity in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, is to further widen due to the incomplete delivery of products to many filling stations, oil marketers stated on Tuesday. Dealers under the aegis of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, said there had been a lopsided pattern in the distribution of PMS lately.

4. The National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj-Gen. Monguno said this on Tuesday in Abuja at the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES).

5. The Federal Government has said that a total of 12,988,978 attacks were recorded during the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections period in Nigeria. Originated from both within and outside Nigeria, the attacks were made on public websites and portals and averaged around 1,550,000 daily, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Ali Pantami said in a statement on Tuesday.

6. The president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has said that he has not endorsed anyone for the leadership of the National Assembly. He said this at a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) with National Assembly members-elect held at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

7. The CBN on Tuesday night directed banks to comply with the Supreme Court ruling that the old notes remain legal tender alongside the redesigned notes till December 31, 2023. Consequently, banks yesterday began to accept the old N500 and N1,000 notes from customers without requesting for the CBN cash return reference code.

No fewer than 130 frontline anti-corruption Civil Society Organisations, CSOs, have resumed their campaign for the sack of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, over alleged politicisation of the commission, disobedience to court orders and infringement on human rights of Nigerians, among others.

9. Outgoing British High Commissioner in Nigeria, Catriona Laing, has said although there were setbacks in the Saturday, February, 25, presidential and National Assembly elections, there were positive developments to take out of the polls.

10. Deposit Money Banks yesterday slashed the amount of Personal Travel Allowance and school fees their customers can apply for amid a worsening foreign exchange crisis. In an emailed letter to customers, some DMBs on Tuesday slashed the amount of PTA their customers can apply for from $4,000 to $2,000.
