Why Can’t Nigeria Make Pidgin English Her Official Language

I observed pidgin is a general language being spoken by all in Nigeria regardless of the tribe you came from be it Hausa, Ibo, Yoruba or even the minority tribes. It's a a language that unifies all Nigerians locally and internationally. At the same pidgin is spoken by all neighbouring countries to Nigeria and that is why i asked: Why can't Nigeria just make pidgin its official language?

It would be a nice thing but our political leaders have not given it a thought. Language has its wy of contributing to the greatness of a nation.
