Manchester City’s shocking slump continued on Saturday, as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton in the Premier League.
In the last 13 games, the champions have only recorded one win – it was a 3-0 hammering of Nottingham Forest at the Etihad.
And they took the lead again against the Toffees through Bernardo Silva’s whose shot was deflected past Jordan Pickford.
But the visitors struck the equalizer through Illiman Ndiaye.
Erling Haaland had the chance to give City the lead. But his weak penalty was shot straight at Pickford.
Here are some of the stats from the game:
- 1. Manchester City have won just one of their last nine Premier League matches (D2 L6), having won 16 of their previous 18 games beforehand (D2).
- 2. Since the start of November, Manchester City have conceded 26 goals in all competitions. In that time, the only side from Europe’s big-five leagues to concede more is 1. FC Heidenheim 1846 (28). City have shipped 62 goals in 2024, their most in a single calendar year since 2016 (67).
- 3. Erling Haaland netted 10 goals in his first five Premier League games this season but has since scored just three in his last 13, unperforming his xG by a league-wide total of 5.2 in that time (3 vs 8.2 xG). His penalty today was the first time he’s seen a goalkeeper save one of his Premier League penalties; his other 16 were either scored (15) or hit the woodwork (1).
- 4. Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva has four Premier League goals against Everton, only netting more times against Watford (five goals). Jeremy Doku created Silva’s opener, with the Belgian assisting 10 goals in his last 16 home league starts.
