Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state, Monday, presented his budget estimates of N755, 588, 041, 220 for 2025.
The budget is made up of recurrent expenditure totalling 112,302,000,000 and subdivided as follows (a) overhead cost 44,900,000,000 (b) personnel cost 39,100 000, 000 (c) subvention 18,202,000,000 (d) CRFIO,100,000,000.
Capital Expenditure 643,286,041,220 (a) economic sector 562,408,411,220 (b) social sector 63,908,234,600 (c) admin source sector 16,969,396,000, and Revenue 755, 588,041,220 (a) IGR 42,577,065,257 (b) FAAC Allocation 293,154,121,949 and (c) capital receipts 419, 856, 584,014.
Governor Uzodimma went ahead to disclose his allocations to 10 key ministries of the state for the year as follows:
1. Ministry of Works and Infrastructural Development-296,461,152,77846%
2.Ministry of Transport-101,010,00016%
3.Ministry of Power and Electrification-74,755,479,04212%.
4.Ministry of Tourism/Hospitality-30,210,000,0005%.
5.Ministry of Health-22,933,234,0004%
6 Ministry of Environment and Sanitation-21,130,000,0003.3%
7.Ministry of Livestock Development-20,000,000,0003%
8.Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security-12,011,958,7802%

Reacting to the budget presentation, the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.Chike Olemgbe, commended the governor for the exercise, adding that his first tenure was filled with many landmarks which no other administration had ever achieved.
“Yet, with what we are seeing on ground, your second term is going to be better than the first term…,” he said.
