British American Tobacco UK has an exciting opportunity for a Product Data Executive in Southampton
What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?
To support the end-to-end co-ordination and delivery of the conceptual design, definition, business rules, policies, access rights, tools, templates, quality criteria and measurement for effective Ops Product global data standards process, management and governance across BAT’s key information systems.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Engagement and alignment of data standards and requirements with all relevant collaborators.
- Analysis of business requests impacting data standards, using the Data Stewards process framework.
- Monitor and control the implementation and adoption (cleansing) of data standards.
- End to end coordination and implementation of data standards, from business partners’ request to sign off in Production system.
- Co-ordination of updates to Ops Product DS documentation, plans, and frameworks.
- Maintenance of the Ops ODM collaborator list/map and the data standards Business as Usual process documentation as defined under the GOM.
- Supervise the alignment of mandatory status characteristics in live SAP (Production environment) to the Data Standards Repository (the source of truth for data standards).
- Work process improvements for data standards processes.
- Promoting data standards and data quality as a critical business asset throughout the organisation.
- Act as the centre of excellence for the understanding and interpretation of data standards on behalf of the entire BAT organisation.
What are we looking for?
- Knowledge of SAP system, specifically good understanding of product data structures (Specifications & Recipe Development modules). Understanding of interdependencies and relationship of product data to broader business data such as Material Master.
- Experience working with Product, Marketing and NPI functions.
- Understand the criticality of tightly controlled data management and data quality.
- Analytical, detailed, problem solving and governance oriented.
- Strong Excel skills.
- Ability to deconstruct complex data issues and convey them in a business relevant format to key stakeholders and forums in clear, simple messages.
- Strong relationship and interpersonal/communication skills.
- Analytical approach to problem solving, attention to details, data-driven thinking, ability to transform data into information.
- Constant desire to learn, seeking new ideas and knowledge.
- Resilient, adapts and embraces change, enjoys working in a constantly evolving environment, solving challenges, and identifying ideas to drive simplification and faster ways to do things.
- Rational, logical, process-driven thinking and decision making.
- Structured work approach and excellent skills for prioritising multiple tasks, deadline conscious, and customer-service oriented.
- Fluent English with strong communication skills (verbal and written).
