Marcus Rashford sent a brief message to teammates celebrating Manchester United’s stunning turnaround win against Manchester City.
The forward was surprisingly left out of the matchday squad, alongside Argentina international Alejandro Garnacho, but Rashford penned his thoughts on social media after Amad Diallo’s winning goal.
Rashford, posting on Instagram, shared a photo of the television screen after Diallo added United’s second goal in a minute to turn around a 1-0 deficit.
The England international posted: “Yesssssssss! Love it lads.”
The visitors travelled to the champions stomping ground at the Etihad Stadium sitting in 13th in the Premier League and off the back of two defeats in the top-flight.
City on the other hand, despite a run of torrid form, were in fifth in the table, but the defeat handed Pep Guardiola a run now extended to 11 games with just one win.
A first-half header by Josko Gvardiol looked set to be the decisive moment with City appearing to be coasting to a win.
However, the dynamic of the game change when Matheur Nunes tripped Diallo in the City box after a poor back pass to the Ivorian – Bruno Fernandes duly slotting home the resulting penalty.
And less than a minute after the restart Diallo nipped in ahead of City goalkeeper Ederson to give Man United the spectacular triumph.
