The markets launched on Saturday, November 16, but shoppers are running out of time to enjoy the festive attraction
Liverpool’s Christmas Markets have been back in the city for more than three weeks now – but shoppers are running out of time to head down and enjoy the festive attraction. Every year the markets bring a massive helping of festive fun and atmosphere with something for all ages to enjoy.
While kids enjoy the entertainment, rides and carousels, adults can pull up a seat at Alpine Bar or Karaoke Huts. The Liverpool Christmas Markets returned to the city on Saturday, November 16, with visitors able to enjoy the market from 11am until 10pm daily as long as weather permits.
The markets are held at St George’s Plateau and William Brown Street. They have become a staple of the area since moving there permanently in 2016.
Liverpool’s market has more than 40 traditional timber stalls full of festive crafts and gifts, as well as funfair rides and a selection of food and drink. Traders are offering gift ideas such as jewellery, Christmas ornaments, hand-crafted leather journals, woollen wears, unique art, hand-painted creative gifts, bottles of festive tipple, delicious cheese, and much more.

The giant Ferris wheel is also on site, alongside the vintage carousel, snow slide and Santa Land for little ones to enjoy. But if you’re planning on taking your kids to visit the seasonal attraction, you only have two weeks left.
Liverpool’s Christmas Markets will remain in the city until December 24. There will be special hours on Christmas Eve, closing at 5pm.
The Liverpool Christmas Markets have always been free to attend. The ECHO previously asked the organisers about how the prices are set at the Liverpool Christmas Markets and they told us it is down to each individual seller.
A spokesperson said: “We do not dictate what independent stall providers charge. This is because we cannot begin to know what an independent/small business costs to make his/her products are. Every single trader across the UK will have different suppliers, pay their staff different salaries, have different running costs etc.”
If you’re arriving in Liverpool by train, the markets are a short distance from Liverpool Lime Street, where Northern Rail and national rail services call. There’s also a Merseyrail station at Lime Street if you’re coming from Wirral or wish to change to Liverpool Central, Moorfields or James Street.
If you’re driving into the city, there’s parking nearby at St John’s Shopping Centre, the Q-Park at Queen Square and Mount Pleasant Car Park. For sat navs, the address and postcode for St. George’s Plateau is St George’s Pl, Liverpool L1 1JJ.
