Back in September, online users reacted to a viral video of a Catholic Priest singing Nigerian singer Ckay’s Love Nwantiti. In the viral clip, the priest who was on the altar was teaching husbands how to be romantic to their wives when he started singing the popular hit song. The clergyman admonished men to be romantic and to sing love songs to their wives.
Months back, another Catholic Priest, identified as Bishop Godfrey Igwebuike, left many talking after borrowing a line from secular singers, Portable and Skepta’s song, Tony Montana, at Junior Pope’s burial mass.
In a viral clip, Bishop Onah was seen borrowing a line from the singers while preaching. He said in the clip, “We don’t know also whether his account balance was as long as the letters of Shokolobangoshay”. The video left many applauding the clergyman for being up to date with secular music, while others pointed out how the line was a line that had been in existence before the singers.
