The acting Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has said the Force is working on a surveillance application to capture all motor parks, commercial drivers and hotels operating in the country.
Additionally, he said the Force was working on an innovation that could collect and manage data about all domestic workers with verified employment histories.
He said the innovation would complement the Digitalised Central Motor Registry, which had been in use, adding that the innovation would be launched before the end of the year.
A statement by the Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the police boss stated this after a tour of the state-of-the-art National Command and Control Centre facility and the Nigeria Police Crime and Incidence Database Centre at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
Adejobi said the IG called on police officers and Nigerians to embrace the ‘’Rescue Me mobile application’’ as well as other technology by the force.
