Manchester United could snatch away Arsenal’s top transfer target

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are three Premier League giants in the hunt for a new striker this summer, even though all three of them did sign star attackers last summer.

Kai Havertz was beyond brilliant for the Gunners in the second half of the season, young prospect Rasmus Hojlund showed his quality for Manchester United as the season went on as well, and even Nicolas Jackson put in strong shifts for Chelsea by the end of the campaign.

Arsenal are going the hardest after an out-and-out striker, and their hunt has seemingly settled on RB Lepizig’s 20-year-old star Benjamin Sesko as the top option.

However, the Daily Mail reports that Manchester United are also interested in the 14-goal Slovenian striker this summer, eyeing his release clause of approximately 56 million pounds.

Sesko is the most talented U21 striker on the market with his clinical eye for goal and physical tools in the box, owning headers and holding up play at an above-average level.

Like Arsenal, Manchester United could use a box presence with consistent goal-scoring qualities like Sesko, as Hojlund is more of an athlete and dribbler with goal-scoring upside rather than a fox in the box like Sesko.

Arsenal are Premier League title contenders and into the Champions League, while Manchester United finished eighth. So Man United will be up against it.

Perhaps the Red Devils’ biggest hope would be Arsenal pivoting to another target like Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen or even Sporting CP’s young marksman Viktor Gyokeres.

Yet even though Arsenal are the favorites and pushing hard for Sesko before the European Championships, Manchester United have more than a fighting chance and should stay in the fight.
