Head coach of England, Gareth Southgate, has said he was disappointed that his team conceded twice against Iran on Monday.
The Three Lions opened their 2022 World Cup campaign with a 6-2 win.
Southgate’s men had a 4-0 lead only an hour into the game.
But Mehdi Taremi pulled one back in the 65th minute and then converted a penalty with basically the last kick of the match to make it 6-2.
“To win by that margin and play the way we did for the majority of the game, really happy,” Southgate told reporters after the game.
“Our pressing was really good, movement really good. I’ve got to be happy but we should not be conceding two goals. We will have to be on it against United States.”
